Enactus SXC's initiation of Project Uthaan on February 25th, 2022, marks a significant endeavor aimed at empowering the inhabitants of Ghoramara Island in both social and economic spheres.

The island, located in West Bengal, grapples with numerous issues including rapid population decline, frequent tropical cyclones, water salinity, and failed cultivation leading to loss of livelihoods. Thus, Enactus SXC strategically proposed the cultivation of Spirulina as a means of providing sustainable employment prospects for the island's residents. Spirulina, known for its myriad health benefits including the reduction of blood sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as its immune-boosting properties, presents a promising avenue for economic empowerment.
